Emerald Shift Group is a high-ticket consulting firm that helps growth-stage MSPs define their strategic direction, streamline operations, and scale with intention. When they came to Kalon, their existing brand was a placeholder. It was generic and didn't communicate the caliber of service they actually deliver.
For a company that commands premium pricing and works alongside clients who expect a certain level of polish, the visual identity needed to match. The goal was to build a brand that felt intentional, high-end, and built on strategy, one that could hold its own in rooms where perception and positioning matter.
We developed a complete brand system anchored by a custom logo with layered symbolism, a typography system that balances legacy with forward momentum, and a color palette that sets Emerald apart from the sea of navy blue consulting brands. The result is a brand the founder is genuinely proud to put in front of the world, one that finally matches the expertise and value Emerald Shift Group has been delivering all along.

Emerald Shift Group had known their original logo was a placeholder and the execution never matched the level of service they were delivering or the prices they were charging. Beyond the logo, there was no system at all. No cohesive identity, no verbal guidelines, nothing tying the brand together.
For a consulting firm working with growth-stage MSPs and commanding premium rates, that gap was a liability. The risk was prospects making snap judgments before a single conversation and looking like a small-time operation when the work and expertise said otherwise. In a space where trust and credibility are everything, the original logo and lack of a brand system was working against them.
Emerald needed a brand identity that justified their pricing and gave the founder confidence when walking into high-stakes conversations. The visual presence needed to signal luxury and expertise before a single word was spoken.
The brand had to feel established without looking outdated. High-end without being cold or unapproachable. There were a few things they wanted like stick with like emerald green as the core color and a gem shape worked into the identity. Beyond that, the goal was a complete brand system that could carry the weight of a high-ticket consulting firm and make Emerald Shift Group look like the established player they already were.
We started with strategy, exploring what Emerald Shift Group needed to communicate and who they needed to resonate with. The founder referenced Cadillac as a touchstone: clearly luxury, undeniably established, with a vintage sensibility that still feels relevant today. That balance became the filter for every creative decision.
The creative direction leaned into rich visuals and sharp precision. Something that felt timeless and high-end without slipping into the cold, corporate territory that dominates the consulting space. We made a deliberate choice to steer clear of the overused blues that plague the industry, leaning instead into deep emerald greens and warm gold accents that felt distinctive and intentional.
Emerald Shift Group needed to feel like a company that had been commanding boardrooms for decades, not a startup trying to prove itself. The visual identity had to be sharp and polished, but layered with enough meaning to reward a closer look. Luxurious without being untouchable and established without feeling outdated.
The verbal identity needed to match that same energy. Confident and direct, but warm enough to feel like a trusted advisor rather than a distant authority. Language that felt like Emerald, a company that meets clients where they are and helps them see where they could go.
Both identities would work together to tell the same story, a consulting firm built on precision, clarity, and long-term thinking. One that looks like it belongs in the same rooms as the high-end clients it serves.
The logo centers on a custom wordmark with a gem icon replacing the "A." Inside the gem, an upward arrow signals the work Emerald Shift Group does for their clients: helping them rise to the next level. The shape itself ties directly to the name while carrying meaning beyond the obvious. A subtle forward tick in the "M" reinforces momentum, nodding to both the company's trajectory and the transformation they guide their clients through.
The typography was designed to hold tension between two ideas. The serif headline font brings weight and legacy, while the clean sans serif in "Shift Group" keeps things modern and forward-moving. That contrast mirrors the challenge at the heart of the brand: looking established and timeless while still feeling like a relevant, forward-thinking partner in the tech space.
The color palette leans into deep emerald greens paired with brushed gold accents. The green ties directly to the name and creates a sense of clarity and focus. The gold adds warmth and a quiet sense of excellence without feeling flashy. Together, they set Emerald apart from the sea of navy blue consulting brands competing for the same attention.
Emerald Shift Group now has a brand that matches the caliber of work they deliver and the rates they command. The placeholder logo is gone, replaced by a complete visual system that signals expertise, clarity, and long-term thinking before a single word is spoken.
More importantly, the founder has something he's genuinely proud to put in front of the world. The kind of brand he is so excited to share he considered getting custom ties made. The kind of brand that walks into high-stakes conversations and belongs there.
