Soul Relief is a premium CBD brand founded by Brandon Barley, a veteran and former first responder who understands firsthand the challenges of managing chronic pain. Driven by a personal mission to provide safer, more effective solutions for others like him, Brandon created Soul Relief—a powerful, plant-based CBD cream made with high-quality, natural ingredients. Built on pillars of trust, clarity, and education, the brand exists to support individuals on their path to relief and healing without compromising safety or integrity.
We worked alongside Cornell Content Marketing to craft a brand identity that would stand out in the increasingly saturated CBD wellness space. From the thoughtful symbolism in the logo to the clear, approachable brand voice and calming visual direction, every element was designed to strike a balance between strength and serenity. The final result included a complete brand identity, product packaging, and foundational marketing assets that reflect Soul Relief’s mission while building trust with both experienced and first-time CBD users.

Despite the booming popularity of CBD products, the market is riddled with confusion, inconsistent quality, and skepticism. Soul Relief entered this space not just as another pain relief product, but with a deeper purpose—to create something rooted in integrity and real personal experience.
However, with no existing branding and limited consumer awareness, Soul Relief needed to establish credibility from the ground up. The challenge was twofold: build immediate trust with first-time CBD users while standing out to seasoned consumers who have seen countless wellness brands come and go. The visual and verbal identity had to communicate strength, clarity, and compassion—setting Soul Relief apart from trendy or gimmicky competitors.
Soul Relief set out to build more than just a wellness product—they aimed to create a brand that feels like a sanctuary for those seeking natural pain relief. The objective was to establish a strong visual and verbal identity that reflected the brand’s core values: transparency, strength, and soul-deep care.
They needed a brand that would resonate with two key audiences: people new to CBD looking for a safe, trustworthy entry point, and those who’ve tried other products and been disappointed. The brand had to feel premium, but not exclusive—strong, but not clinical—spiritual, but still grounded in results. Everything from the logo to the messaging needed to communicate that this was a product made with intention, built from real-life experience, and designed to support people through their healing journey.
We began with a deep dive into the CBD and pain relief market to understand the gaps Soul Relief could uniquely fill. Our research showed that many brands leaned heavily into either clinical minimalism or over the top and loud aesthetics—leaving room for something truly meaningful and balanced. This insight helped us define a creative direction that felt both premium and personal.
Working closely with Cornell Content Marketing and Soul Relief’s founder, we explored the brand’s roots in spiritual resilience and physical healing. We focused on crafting a logo that embodied this duality. Drawing inspiration from the Celtic Trinity Knot and the lotus flower, we designed a mark that symbolizes the integration of mind, body, and soul—anchored in ancient symbolism, yet refined for modern wellness consumers.
This symbolic foundation informed every visual and verbal choice, from color palette to font selection, allowing us to create a holistic brand that honors both tradition and innovation.
We developed a visual and verbal identity that reflects Soul Relief’s commitment to effective, transparent, and compassionate pain relief. The branding strikes a careful balance—strong enough to convey trust and efficacy, yet warm and grounded to remain approachable and emotionally resonant.
From color palette to typography, every detail was intentionally chosen to support the brand’s dual purpose: to feel premium while still being accessible. The voice was crafted to feel informative without being clinical, and supportive without sounding vague—guiding consumers confidently, whether they’re new to CBD or well-versed in plant-based pain relief. This brand is clear, steady, and made to last.
Soul Relief’s branding was brought to life through a thoughtful suite of visual assets designed to communicate trust, integrity, and holistic strength. The cornerstone of the brand is the custom logo mark—a refined interpretation of the Celtic Trinity Knot, with a chosen representation of the mind, body, and soul. Its tapered lines introduce a softness that connects to the wellness space, while its structure conveys durability and balance. The three petal-like shapes also mirror the lotus petals found in Hindu symbolism, blending spirituality and strength with graceful intention. Behind it lies a subtle spiral pattern, a traditional Celtic symbol of growth, journey, and the continuity of life—a quiet but powerful nod to personal transformation and inner strength.
The bold, masculine typeface anchors the identity with confidence, while modern layouts and minimal design elements allow the product to remain the focal point. Together with a grounded, earth-toned palette and elevated copywriting, the final visuals evoke a sense of premium wellness and intentional relief.
The final identity positioned Soul Relief as a calm, confident presence in an industry crowded with loud, overly-saturated designs. Where many competitors rely on flashy colors and overwhelming visuals, Soul Relief stands apart with a refined, symbolic aesthetic that invites trust and speaks directly to those seeking genuine, long-term relief.
With a visual language that balances strength and serenity, the brand now has a clear and meaningful foundation to grow from—appealing to both seasoned CBD users and those just beginning their journey. The client expressed immense gratitude as the brand felt fully aligned with their mission and message—elevated, grounded, and ready to serve as a source of healing and hope.
